With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Alfred “Hayden” Knott, age 62 of Cedar Creek, Texas. Hayden was born in El Paso, Texas on April 28, 1963.
Hayden leaves behind his wife, Eirene; son Andrew and wife Emma; son Declan and partner Taylor; daughter Daphne; stepdaughter Kayla; stepson Nathan and wife Hannah; stepson Brandon and wife Lynna; his sisters Renee (Michael) Maloney, Tamara Gettys, Kim (Joel) Kunze and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Melvina and son Steven.
Hayden’s passions were loving Jesus, serving others, cooking and the outdoors. He was active in Scouting America and found out recently that he had been approved to attend the National Jamboree in 2026. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow, known as Gispuin Kikinhet Sarcastic Guide. He was also a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, known as Big Noisy Sleeping Bear. In addition to scouting, he worked with the middle school boys at his church, Life Family Bastrop. He also donated his time to Feed the Need, serving food to numerous people in Bastrop and sharing the love of Jesus with all encountered. When he was not busy with those organizations, you could find him in his backyard smoking or grilling some sort of meat and watching a Texas A&M or Kansas City Chiefs football game.
Hayden and Eirene loved to travel. During their time together, they visited several countries and half of the United States. He was always running into a fellow Aggie, even half a world away, which always humored Eirene.
Hayden’s family will be holding a celebration of life on December 6, 2025 at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being given to Scouting America (Troops 98 & 1423), LifeFamily Bastrop, or Feed the Need Missions.
