Bennie what can we say, she lived the life God Blessed her with, she was a Mama, Mother, Grandma, Nana, Sister, Cousin and friend to many, as well as the many hats she wore. She was also a songbird, and a cook like no other. There could actually be a book written about her, and all she encountered during her 86 years of life. She helped others whenever she could, she fed many from her kitchens and the kitchens of multiple restaurants that she worked at; her accolades is a never-ending story.
Bennie was born on January 25, 1940, to Ben L. and Olessie B. Felix in Bastrop County, Texas; she left this earthly world on January 28, 2026 at 2:45am, and those who preceded her in death: Shakonda (oldest grandchild), Frankie (sister), Irene (sister), Prince (brother), Jimmy(brother), Harrell (brother), Bobby (brother), JohnBen (brother) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bennie leaves four surviving children Cynthia (daughter), Michael (son), Karen (daughter), Kathy (daughter) and three children of Blessings, Lee Jr. (son), Linda (daughter) and Alcia (daughter). Bennie also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren and one brother, Uncle Eugene and a host of relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service with family and friends to gather and share stories and memories of Bennie's life will take place at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home on Saturday, February 14, 2026 beginning at 2:00PM.
