Today we gather not only in remembrance, but in celebration of the beautiful life and radiant spirit of Jamisha Monique Cook—a life that brought love, light, and joy to everyone who knew her.
Those we love never truly leave us…
Jamisha Monique Cook was born on February 15, 1994, and passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 32.
Jamisha was a proud graduate of Bastrop High School and a faithful member of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. She was known for her warm spirit and the beautiful smile that could light up any room.
Her kindness, laughter, and joyful presence touched the lives of many. Jamisha had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved, leaving lasting memories with her family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jamisha was truly a family person. She loved spending time with her family, and her love for family, laughter, and togetherness will always be remembered.
Above all, Jamisha cherished being a mother. Her three children were the center of her world, and she loved them deeply. They were her pride and joy, and she found her greatest happiness in caring for them and watching them grow.
Jamisha leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Tracey Piper-Slaughter; her father, James Cook, Jr; her beloved children, Emilio, Jr., Emilie, and Eleni Rivero; her life partner, Emilio Rivero; her grandmother, Betty Piper; grandfather, James Cook, her sister and best friend, Demetria Cook; sister, Kiyani Cook; her brothers, Royce Ravion, Zyire Piper-Slaughter, and James Cook III; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Lee Piper; her brother, Roy Ravion, Jr.; and her beloved cousin, Cheryl Barnett.
Jamisha will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and all who were blessed to know her. Though her time with us was far too short, the love and memories she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who loved her forever.
Her smile will live forever in our hearts.
