Joan Elsie Harris

With sadness we announce the passing of our mother Joan Harris, age 93, of Bastrop, Texas on September 8, 2025. Joan was born in Missouri on April 3, 1932. Was married to Paul Harris of Fort Dodge Iowa. She received her bachelors degree and worked in the Fort Dodge area dedicating her career and time to people with special needs. Retired and moved to Texas. She leaves behind 4 children, Mary, Mark, Scott, and Kimberley. 6 grandchildren, Holley, Heather, Tiffany, Jessica, Sam, and Raimie. 5 great grandchildren, William, Eva, Harper, Jacob and Cash. One living sister Norma. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul and her son Harold.

Since the death of our father, with young kids, our mother became the only one in our lives, she was more than a mother, she was our rock, the matriarch, and our protector. Joan carried all of our love and burdens until the end, she was the definition of a mother.

Services will be private in Bastrop. She will be laid to rest with her husband Paul in their family plot in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
