Joseph Walter Levering

Joseph Walter Levering, age 86, of Smithville, Texas, passed away on May 13, 2025. Born on April 9, 1939, Joe was an architect by profession, a longtime volunteer with the local fire department, and a founding member of Gallery 71 to support the arts in Smithville.

He is survived by his sons, Craig and Vrad; his brother, Paul; his sisters, Bette, Bonnie, and Margaret; and his grandchildren, Eva, Theo, and Mayla. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jean.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, at Antioch Cemetery, 227 Antioch Rd., Smithville, Texas.
