Myra Irene Blakely Bowman

Myra Irene Blakely Bowman, age 86, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2025. She was born to Deo and Bonnie Sproles Blakely on January 4, 1939 in McCaskill, Arkansas.

Irene graduated from Levelland High School in 1957. She had a job as a carhop at Dairy Mart during high school. She then went on to own several restaurants. Irene then went to work for the US Department of Agriculture Farmers Home Administration, where she received many awards and eventually retired.

Irene is proceeded in death by her parents, Deo and Bonnie Blakely; sisters, Pam Sizemore, Charlene Allen, and Della Shirley; and brother, Donnie Blakely. She had one daughter and one son.

Irene is survived by her numerous family members.

A Graveside Service to remember and celebrate her life will be held at her final resting place in Levelland Cemetery on Friday, April 25, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
