Nick Rios, lovingly known as “Chili Pepper,” was born on April 24, 1959, in Buda, Texas. He passed away peacefully at his home in Dale, Texas, on January 28, 2026, surrounded by love.
Nick was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He was known for his strong work ethic, selfless heart, and unwavering love for his family. Nick spent his life putting others before himself and protecting and providing for those he loved. His children and family were the center of his world, and his love for them ran deep and unconditional.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Rios; his children Brandon Henrichs-Rios, Mallory Henrichs-Rios, Adam Henrichs-Rios, Laura , Crystal, Yvonne Halle (Zack) Elizabeth Nelson (John), and Anthony Rios; Step kids Ashley Winn (Reggie) James Coleman (Amy) Brothers; Frank (Diana) Manuel, Sammy, and sister Mary along with extended family and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Masedonio Rios; his brothers Michael, Paul, and Joe Rios; and his sister Debra.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, beginning at 4:00 p.m. His Celebration of Life will follow the same evening at 6:00 p.m.
Nick’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
