Pamela Gail Peterson (68) passed away on October 29, 2025 at her home in Waco, Texas surrounded by her family.

Pam was born in Waco, TX to Andrew and Laura Wilkins on November 18, 1956. She graduated from La Vega High School in 1974. She married Danny Peterson on October 30, 1991 in Tacoma, Washington.

Pam enlisted in the US Army in 1975 and served in one of the last units of the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) before it was disbanded in 1978. She worked as an accountant during the earliest stages of her career, but she had a life-long devotion to youth development and mentorship. She labored diligently to help the youth of her community cultivate excellence within themselves and actualize their full potential in their respective endeavors. She served as a mentor at Bellville Junior High School, organized and led a local Girl Scouts club, contributed to multiple fundraising efforts as an active member of the Parent Teacher Association and the Band Booster Club, and served as a substitute teacher within the Bastrop Independent School District for a number of years.

Apart from her youth engagement, Pam always went above and beyond to contribute to the up-building of her local community. She served as a trustee of her home church, Mount Rose Missionary Baptist, for several seasons of her life. Where she also helped lead a women’s Sunday School class. And in her later stages, she worked with the Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation of Planning (EOAC) organization of Waco to combat poverty in the central Texas community. While working with EOAC, she also completed her Associate’s Degree and earned her real estate license.

In addition to the many community members and surrogate children she adopted over the years, Pam is survived by her husband, Danny Peterson, her children: Antwain Fullwood, April Jensen, Danielle Blalock, Andrew Peterson, and Kyla Peterson, her siblings: Mona Wilkins, Ronnie Wilkins, and Eric Wilkins, and her grandchildren: Nichele Fullwood, Andreus Fullwood, Cameron Fullwood, Jaden Fullwood, Emiko Fullwood, Keiko Fullwood, Colton Jensen, Sloan Blalock, Charlie Blalock, Andi Blalock, and soon Solomon Gale Blalock.

Pam is preceded in death by her mother Laura Wilkins and father Andrew Wilkins.

A small, family Graveside Memorial Service for Pam will be held at 11:00am on November 15, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery with a more public repast at the Kerr Community Center at 12:00pm. We are abundantly grateful for all who recognize and remember her as she concludes her earthly journey and transitions into celestial paradise.
