Patricia Ann Ketchum, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on July 2,1944, in Jackson, Tennessee. She left us on February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family in Austin, Texas. Patricia's journey through life was marked by her unwavering passion for family, her remarkable career in the travel industry, and her talent for bringing people together.

Patricia began her career in the bustling heart of Detroit, Michigan, working in the travel industry—a field she was dedicated to for her entire professional life. Her passion for travel eventually led her to establish her own travel business, where she continued to inspire countless friends and clients with her adventurous spirit and keen sense of exploration.

Not only was Patricia a remarkable professional, but she also brought warmth and joy into the lives of everyone around her. She cherished spending her time with family, pouring her heart into cooking for them during the holidays. Her gatherings at Canyon Lake were legendary; she was known for her exquisite appetizers and meals that always left an imprint on the hearts of those fortunate enough to share the table with her. Patricia adored her grandchildren, Kyle and Nikolette, and devoted much of her time to supporting them at their sporting events, cheering loudly for Kyle on the baseball field and celebrating Nikolette in all her athletic endeavors.

Patricia was an energetic soul who found joy in many aspects of her life. A lover of nature, she enjoyed bird watching and nurturing her plants, each adding vibrancy to her cherished home. In her younger years, she captured the thrill of tennis, indulging her competitive spirit before transitioning into the role of a loving matriarch who focused on creating her own plant paradise wherever she called home.  

Patricia was the heart of her family, leaving behind her loving daughter, Stacey Ketchum Schmidt, and son-in-law Glenn Schmidt, her grandson Kyle Schmidt and his wife Annie Schmidt, her granddaughter Nikolette Schmidt, and her beloved daughter Holly Ketchum. She cherished her sister Barbara Rudduck and held close to Barbara and her family. She also leaves behind her beloved sweet kitty, Greta. Patricia also held close to her heart, her Dutch grandfamily Sanne, Rick, and baby Nim. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit touched many lives and she was deeply instrumental in the lives of those she called family.

In addition to her vibrant life, Patricia is lovingly remembered by her family as they carry the lasting impact of her kindness, love, and unforgettable gatherings. She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Weaver Bosco, her father, Gene Douglas, and her stepfather, Dominic Bosco, her brother-in-law Jack Rudduck, and her nephew David Rudduck.  

As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Patricia Ann Ketchum, let us hold close the memories of her joyous spirit and the love she radiated. She will forever live on in the stories shared, the meals prepared, and the gatherings celebrated, reminding us of the beauty of family and the joy of togetherness. A Memorial Service will be held at Bastrop Providence Funeral Home on April 18, 2026 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
