Uvaldo Ramos, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Austin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 22, 1963, in Brownsville, Texas, Uvaldo dedicated much of his life to serving both his community and his country.
He honorably served in the United States Army from 1982 to 1986, a testament to his commitment to duty and service. After his military career, Uvaldo found a rewarding vocation in customer service at Builders First Source, where he was well-regarded for his dedication and attention to detail. Uvaldo enjoyed being with his family and was a fan of the UT Longhorns, even owing a car donning the famed burnt orange.
Uvaldo is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Clarissa, Isabel, and Natalya Ramos, who brought him immense joy and pride. He was the beloved son of Rita Alvarez, and is survived by his siblings: Alfredo Ramos, Jr., Reynaldo Ramos, Luis Ramos, Guadalupe Lopez, and Margarita Ramos. They, too, will hold his memory close and honor his legacy in their lives.
Preceding him in death was his father, Alfredo L. Ramos, Sr., whose memory will join Uvaldo’s in the hearts of those who knew them.
To honor Uvaldo's remarkable life and contributions, a visitation will be held on August 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. On August 14, viewing will commence at 10:00 AM at Ascension Catholic Church, leading into a Mass at 11:00 AM, concluding with his final rest at Fairview Cemetery.
As we reflect upon Uvaldo's journey, let us remember him as a man of courage, love, and unwavering support for those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will forever inspire us to live with purpose and compassion, just as he did.
